Steelers, Tomlin not dwelling on rough start

Posted: Updated:

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says there's no use focusing on his team's 2-5 start.

Tomlin said Tuesday the Steelers need to focus on the road ahead starting on Sunday at New England.

Pittsburgh's modest two-game winning streak came to an end with a miserable 21-18 loss to Oakland last Sunday. The Steelers got off to a horrific start, falling behind by 18 points in the first half.

Tomlin said it's on the coaching staff to do a better job preparing the players for the start of the games. Pittsburgh has been outscored 54-19 in the first quarter this season.

The Steelers received a bit of good news on Tuesday. Offensive guards David DeCastro and Ramon Foster, both injured against the Raiders, will have a chance to play against New England.
