Ohio boy, 14, accused of arson, attempted murder

Posted: Updated:

CINCINNATI (AP) - A 14-year-old Ohio boy has been arrested on juvenile charges of attempted murder and arson after authorities say he tried to kill his foster family by setting their house on fire.

Officials responded to the fire Wednesday night in Wayne Township, 30 miles northeast of Cincinnati.

They say the foster child from Franklin County who was placed in the home had set it on fire in an attempt to kill everyone inside. They say his foster mother had to pull the teen from his own burning bed.

The teen was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns. He is now being held in juvenile jail.

The five adults in the house at the time weren't hurt.

It's unclear how long the boy has lived in the home.
