Warren firefighters kick off boot drive for local cause

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio - Warren's finest were out in the cold for a good cause.

Firefighters kicked off a boot drive to raise money for a cause near and dear to their hearts.

The firefighters even had what they called the world's largest minion helping them collect money to benefit Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Lieutenant Shawn Peura says the firefighters love helping kids, adding Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley also has one of the best burn units around.

The money raised in the Koins for Kids campaign stays in the Mahoning Valley to benefit local children and families.

The hospital treats kids regardless of a family's ability to pay.
