SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Investors building a natural gas liquid processing plant in Mahoning County have donated $40,000 to Springfield Township.

Township Trustee Robert Orr says money is being earmarked for emergency responder services throughout the township.

The donation was presented through the NiSource Charitable Foundation on behalf of NiSource Midstream Services which is in the process of constructing the Hickory Bend Gathering System and processing plant in Springfield Township on behalf of Pennant Midstream, LLC.

Pennant is a joint venture between NiSource and Harvest Pipeline Company.

The companies held a dedication ceremony at the site of the $375 million facility in Springfield Township last week.

Springfield Township's emergency responders are in the process of collaborating with training personnel on the operations which will take place at the Hickory Bend Processing Plant.
