Ohio good Samaritan attacked trying to help trio

Posted: Updated:

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A good Samaritan was attacked by three people pretending to be stranded in southwestern Ohio.

The Butler County sheriff's office said Monday that 46-year-old Damon Wyatt of Trenton drove himself to a hospital and called authorities early Saturday morning following the attack.

Wyatt told deputies he had been driving in St. Clair Township when he spotted a man and woman standing by a minivan on the side of the road.

He says he stopped to help jump their car.

He says that in the process, a second man began choking him from behind, while the other man started punching him in the face.

Wyatt lost consciousness and woke up to find the trio gone. His car had been searched but Wyatt had hidden his wallet and it was still there.
