Steelers 'open' to anything, but options limited

Posted: Updated:

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says he's not going to blow things up just because his team is off to a horrific 2-6 start.

Tomlin said Tuesday he believes the answers to Pittsburgh's problems are in the locker room. The Steelers are coming off a 55-31 loss to New England in which they gave up a franchise-record 610 yards.

Tomlin stressed he remains confident in Hall of Fame defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau and that all 53 men on the roster are capable of helping Pittsburgh get it together.

Injuries have also limited Tomlin's options. Of the 22 players ranked second on the depth chart at their position, only nose tackle Ziggy Hood has extensive playing time with the team.

Pittsburgh hosts Buffalo (3-6) on Sunday.
