Browns trying to shake off Cincinnati calamity

Posted: Updated:

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns coach Rob Chudzinski called his team's performance in Cincinnati "disappointing" and expects his players to bounce back.

After building a 13-0 lead, the Browns collapsed in the second quarter, when the AFC North-leading Bengals blocked two punts, returned a fumble for a touchdown and scored 31 straight points en route to a 41-20 win. Chudzinski described the events of the second quarter as "atypical" and hopes his team will learn from the experience of playing in a big game.

Chudzinski said the Browns (4-6) "didn't play the way we're capable of playing." Cleveland missed a chance to move up in the division and legitimize its playoff chances. Now, the Browns have to quickly recover before hosting the rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Chudzinski said the team's veteran and young players have to play better and "it has to happen right away."
