2 teams to represent the Missouri Valley Conference in the FCS playoffs

Posted: Updated:

For the 19th-straight year, the Missouri Valley Football Conference will be represented by at least two teams in the FCS playoffs, as North Dakota State and South Dakota State have earned 2013 bids.

The Bison are the No. 1 overall seed and will play the winner of the Furman/South Carolina State game.

South Dakota State will open the championship on the road, with a game at Northern Arizona at 7 pm CT on Nov. 30.

The league is 50-33 during the past 16 years in the FCS playoffs (since 1997), and the league has had at least two playoff teams every year since 1995. A league team has reached the semifinals in 13 of the past 17 years, which includes four national crowns. South Dakota State sports a 1-2 all-time record in the playoffs, while North Dakota State is 10-1 all-time in the FCS playoffs, including back-to-back national crowns.
