MERCER, Pa. (AP) - State police say the driver of a sport-utility vehicle has been killed after rear-ending a PennDOT snow plow truck on Interstate 79 in western Pennsylvania.
Police and the Mercer County coroner have yet to release the name of the driver whose Chevrolet Tahoe drove into the southbound plow just after 7 p.m. Sunday.
The accident happened at mile marker 119 in Findley Township. That's near Mercer, about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Troopers say the vehicle caught fire and spun around after rear-ending the plow. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner.
The name of the dead driver hasn't been released.
Police say the PennDOT driver wasn't hurt.
