Good Samaritans save dog in North Beaver Township

Posted: Updated:

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - An adventurous pooch in Lawrence County is lucky to be alive thanks to three good Samaritans.

Reeba, a Brittany Golden Retriever, fell through the ice in Pete's Lake off Beechwood Road in North Beaver Township late Thursday afternoon.

Fortunately Rachal Bright, who lives nearby, heard Reeba barking and called her brother and cousin for help.

They got a boat out to Reeba and saved her from possibly drowning.

"I noticed the dog struggling and barking, stuck in the lake. It looked like it had possibly walked out there and fell through the ice," Bright said.

"It had been barking but was pretty tired by then. It was pretty whooped. It didn't fight us. We got it in the boat just fine. We got it back to shore pretty quickly," said Mark Pezzuolo.

First responders were waiting on shore with blankets and quickly got Reeba warmed up. She's re-united with her owner and doing just fine tonight.
