Browns' Horton says players feeling pressure

Posted: Updated:

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton attributes his team's defensive breakdowns in recent weeks to players buckling under pressure.

The Browns have blown leads in their last three losses, surrendering 49 points in the fourth quarter and going 0-3 against Jacksonville, New England and Chicago. Horton said his unit's play has been "very disappointing" and that he's talked to his players about playing well for four quarters and not to "tighten up" when the game is on the line.

Horton said he's spoken to his players about being accountable in "crunch time" and staying aggressive.

Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson doesn't think any of his teammates get overwhelmed in tight situations.

Horton will likely be a candidate for head-coaching vacancies in the offseason. Jackson said he selfishly hopes Horton remains with the Browns, who despite a five-game losing streak have made some progress this season.
