UAW expects new Cruze launch in near future

Posted: Updated:

LORDSTOWN, Ohio - Some exciting changes in store for the Chevy Cruze according to union officials.

The President of UAW local 1112 Glenn Johnson tells us the next generation Chevy Cruze is coming off the drawing board and they are starting to see some progress in the plant.

"The Chevy Cruze, being launched in 2010, is the oldest vehicle in our lineup, at three years old, and it's due to be revamped. So everything in the entire General Motors' portfolio has been revamped, tweaked or relaunched since 2010, when we came out of bankruptcy, and we're looking for a really exciting new Chevy Cruze to be launched soon," Johnson said.

Johnson wouldn't reveal the launch date but did tell us they are looking for a new Chevy Cruze to be launched real soon.
