YSU's Elkins gets a shot at impressing NFL scouts

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – An early Christmas gift for Youngstown State University football player.

Offensive lineman Chris Elkins will be heading south the third week of the new year hoping to make a good impression with NFL scouts while suiting up one last time to play in a college football game.

Elkins will play in the longest running college all star game, The 88th East-West Shrine game, on January 19th at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

This will be the first shot for Elkins to improve his draft stock after a stellar career at YSU.

He played 717 snaps this past season without giving up a sack.

He's a two time all conference player and second team All American this season.
