Austintown comedy show benefits adults with autism

Posted: Updated:

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - A local family continues their long term goal of supporting adults with autism.

A comedy show fundraiser was held Thursday at the Funny Farm in Austintown, to benefit the Mikeyfied fund.

The couple who started the fund say there is a void to adequately provide services for adults with autism, and they hope to one day build care facilities dedicated to their needs.

"In the mid 90's there was a big autism boom and now these kids are becoming adults, like my son Michael," said President of the Mikeyfied for Adult Autism Fund Mauro DiVieste. "Someone is going to need to care for him when we get old."
