Former Mahoning County Treasurer to begin prison term

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Lisa Antonini, former Mahoning County treasurer and Democratic Party chairwoman, is scheduled to report to prison Tuesday.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service in Cleveland, everything is running on track for Antonini to voluntarily surrender Tuesday morning, and leave for the federal prison camp for women.

Antonini will serve five months in the minimum-security prison in Alderson, West Virginia followed by an additional five months on house arrest.

She was sentenced on Nov. 13 after pleading guilty to one count of honest services mail fraud for failing to report a $3,000 cash gift on a disclosure form mailed to the Ohio Ethics Commission back in 2008.
