Hermitage attorney running for Pennsylvania senate seat

Posted: Updated:

SHARON, Pa. - Another candidate has come forward seeking the Pennsylvania senate seat being vacated by Bob Robbins who's retiring at the end of his current term.

Hermitage attorney Michael Muha declared his candidacy Monday evening at the Mercer County Democratic Party headquarters in Sharon.

Muha manages his own law firm. He graduated from Slippery Rock University and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Mercer County bar associations.

"We need new representation in the senate. The politicians in Harrisburg are focusing too much on misplaced priorities. They're making sure that their jobs in the state house and state senate stay cushy and they're not focusing on the things they should be focusing on like providing jobs in the commonwealth, bringing a quality education to the students in the 50th district and providing some sort of property tax relief for our residents," Muha said.

Muha was introduced by Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman Jim Burns.

So far, Muha is the only announced democrat running for the 50th Senate seat.
