Speakers set for Friday's TEDx Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The founder of Priceline.com, Jeff Hoffman, will visit Youngstown State University on Friday for TEDx Youngstown.

Other notable speakers include U.S. Congressman and published author Tim Ryan who will talk about mindfulness and meditation in schools. Also presenting is the chairman of Youngstown State University's Communications Department, Dr. Adam Earnheardt, who will talk about building peace through sports and social media.

The local event's organizer tells 21 News all 18 speakers will create an exciting day of innovation.

"The goal of this event is to bring some people together, to share some great ideas. TEDx tagline is ideas worth spreading and it's the idea to bring people together, talk about all these great things going on in our country and our world and figure out a way we can look at them and how we can bring great things to our area," said Lorilyn Shandor, with TEDx Youngstown.

Tickets for the event are sold out but you can watch it live from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday at http://tedxyoungstown.com/.

The public library in Boardman and Kravitz Deli in Poland will also be hosting viewing parties.
