3 deaths believed storm-related in SE Pa.

Posted: Updated:

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities are investigating three suspected weather-related deaths in Delaware County outside Philadelphia, two of which involved elderly people who wandered outside during the bitterly cold snowstorm overnight.

Ridley Township police said a 93-year-old woman and an 89-year-old man died in separate incidents during the storm late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

They aren't releasing details on the woman's death but told the Delaware County Daily Times the man had Alzheimer's disease and died after wandering outside clad only in underwear. Their names were not released.

A third person, a 67-year-old man, died in Swarthmore. No further details have been released.

Autopsies are being performed to determine the causes of death.
