CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Salem area couple is expected to plead guilty to federal charges for what drug investigators described as a large scale indoor marijuana growing operation at their home.

The attorney for 40-year-old Charles S. Wilson and 42-year-old Sandra R. Wilson has filed a notice of their intent to change their plea to charges of conspiring to cultivate and intent to distribute marijuana.

The two initially pleaded not guilty when a six count federal indictment was handed up last year

An affidavit says a September 25th search of buildings on Wilson's Garfield Road property in Smith township uncovered a large scale indoor marijuana growing operation inside buildings.

Officers found 127 marijuana plants, digital scales, packaging materials, grinders, drying equipment, timers, air conditioning equipment and other equipment associated with indoor marijuana cultivation and trafficking.

The original indictment includes the following charges:

  • Conspiracy to Manufacture and Possess with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
  • Manufacture (Cultivation) of Marijuana
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
  • Maintaining a Drug Involved Premises
  • Conspiracy to Launder Monetary Instruments
  • Engaging in a Monetary Transaction in Property Derived from a Specified Unlawful Activity
