Car and semi collide on I-80 in Liberty Township crash

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Ohio Highway Patrol is trying to determine if the weather played a part in an accident along Interstate 80.

Investigators say a tractor trailer and a car were heading west on I-80 around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when they collided. The impact sent the car across the median and into the eastbound lane. 

First responders say one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police have not released the name of the victim.

    Police say a 2-year-old girl has been hospitalized in Ohio after a suspected opioid overdose. First responders were called to a home in Dayton around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of an unconscious child.     Ohio is preparing to put a condemned child killer to death in the state's first execution in more than three years. Forty-three-year-old Ronald Phillips is scheduled to die Wednesday at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. He was convicted for the 1993 rape and killing of Sheila Marie Evans, his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter.
