Fundraiser in Girard honors the memory of those from an unsolved murder

Posted: Updated:

GIRARD, Ohio - A local fundraiser to benefit kids in the area is in its seventh year.

The annual spaghetti dinner honors the memory of Lena Cross, Mason, and Christian Pizzullo who were murdered almost 10 years ago at their apartment in Girard.

The children's paternal grandmother, Cindy Michael, began the fundraiser seven years ago as a way to bring happiness to other and to keep their memories alive.

Money is used for a fun day for kids at Todd Park.

"Last year we gave out 450 book bags and supplies. We had clowns, face painting, bounce around, a Girard fire truck; just an all around fun day for kids," Michael said.

If you have information about the 2005 murders of Lena Cross, Mason, and Christian Pizzullo, please call Girard police or Crimestoppers at 330-746-CLUE.
