Fire damages Boardman home

BOARDMAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - An arson investigator is trying to determine the cause of a house fire in Boardman.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 7300 block of Yellow Creek Drive shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday to answer a report that smoke was seen in the rear of the  residence.

Firefighters arriving on the scene reported flames inside the kitchen of the home.

Springfield Township and Poland fire departments were also dispatched to the scene.

Damage is estimated at 65-thousand dollars. There's no word yet on the cause of the fire.

There are no reports of injuries. The home was not occupied at the time.

Township Police were also called to the scene, but say they are still investigating.
