Juvenile authorities were called to East High School on Thursday morning after a 14-year old male student allegedly threw a teacher to the ground.

According to police, 57-year-old Janet Gleichert was trying to break up a fight between two other students in the hallway of the school when the 14-year-old came up behind her, grabbed Gleichert around the waist, picked her up off the ground and threw her to the ground.

The fight was broken up by other teachers. The 14-year-old was placed under arrest for assaulting a teacher.  He was taken to the Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center.

Gleichert complained of back injuries, but was not hospitalized.
