Proposed cancer wellness center receives a sizeable donation

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Two cancer survivors have dreams of bringing a cancer wellness center to the Mahoning Valley.

The Youngstown Foundation donated $25,000 to their effort.

If the wellness center comes to fruition, organizers say it would provide cancer patients and their loved ones with non-medical support, such as art therapy, yoga, and counseling.

"We have wonderful doctors and fantastic medical care here in the Valley, but we need that missing link and that the support that we hope the yellow brick place will offer," said Anna Aey, co-founder Yellow Brick Place.

Yellow Brick Place is a fairly new non-profit in the area. So far, they've raised $65,000 towards their project.
