Valley lawmakers tour Goodwill Industries

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Valley lawmakers took a tour of Goodwill Industries and learned that there's more than just donations for a deal.

As state representatives and senators toured the Belmont Avenue facility, they learned there's a lot of goodwill provided there. The organization provides employment for 260 people, serves local businesses and the community, and helps workers manage their lives.

"We help people who have disabilities, and have other barriers, to employment. So we try and get them back on their feet and get them work," said Michael McBride, executive director Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries.

Several of the state representatives are also participating in an area weight loss challenge and will donate any money raised to Goodwill Industries.
