Ohio cities criticized for snow-removal efforts

Posted: Updated:

CINCINNATI (AP) - A mostly dry day across much of Ohio is giving road crews a chance to catch up ahead of the possibility for more snow over the weekend.

Residents in several parts of the state have been griping about what they see as slow responses to getting side streets cleared after winter's latest blast of snow and ice this week.

The city of Cleveland reports that 99 percent of residential streets have been plowed as of late Friday morning, while the city of Columbus says a fleet of trucks and tractors is clearing roads and will continue working into the night Friday.

Those are two of the cities where there have been complaints. Forecasters say some Ohio areas could get relatively light snowfalls this weekend.
