Great Groceries: Italian Chili

Italian Chili

1/2 lb. lean ground beef

1/2 lb. bulk Italian Sausage

1 onion, onion

1 green pepper, chopped

1 (26 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce

1 1/2 cups water

2 tsp. sugar

1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes

1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms

2 oz. sliced pepperoni, diced

1 Tbsp. beef bouillon

1 Tbsp. chili powder

1 (14.5 oz.) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Crumble ground beef and sausage into a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and pepper and cook, stirring, until beef is evenly browned. Drain grease, if necessary.

Pour in spaghetti sauce, water, sugar, tomatoes, mushrooms, pepperoni, bouillon, chili powder and kidney beans. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Serve with Cheddar cheese.
