Teen critical after Neshannock Township house fire

Posted: Updated:

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Fire sent two members of a Lawrence County family to the hospital Wednesday  morning.

Crews arriving on the scene just after 4:30 a.m. spotted flames coming from the living room area of the home at 1245 Kings Chapel Road.

40-year-old Jennifer Bees and her six year old daughter had already escaped the flames. But Bees went back inside looking for her 16-year-old son.

Police found Bees and her unconscious son inside a bedroom. Officers dragged the son through a window and performed mouth to mouth resuscitation.

The teen was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh where he is listed in critical condition.

The mom was treated at Jameson hospital for cuts on her feet.  The six year old daughter was not injured.

An 11-year-old child who had been reported missing earlier was located unharmed at her father's house.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. The home is listed as a total loss.
