HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - Police in southwestern Ohio say an 18-year-old was killed and an officer was grazed in the head by a bullet during a shootout between the two.

The shootout happened in a residential neighborhood of Hamilton Saturday morning.

Police say 44-year-old officer Chad Stafford was released from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

They identified the man killed as 18-year-old Brandon Keeler.

One resident said he woke up to the sound of gunfire and saw a Hamilton police officer exchanging shots with a man firing a shotgun.

Authorities in Hamilton say they were called to the neighborhood after receiving calls about a man shooting a gun into the air.
