Court finds firing of assistant Bristol fire chief unlawful

BRISTOL TWP., Ohio - A court finds the firing of an assistant fire chief in Bristol unlawful and unreasonable.

Judge Andrew Logan found there was no evidence that Steve Craiger violated any standard operating procedures.

The assistant chief was fired in part for insubordination for attending a FEMA meeting after he was put on administrative leave.

The township can either re-hire Craiger or appeal the case.

    What started as a suspected shoplifting at a Southern Park Mall department store ended with a robbery charge being filed against a Youngstown woman and a store employee being bitten. Boardman Police were called to the Macy's Tuesday afternoon to find a woman being held down by the store's loss prevention officer.
