Fashion designer Nanette Lepore and actor Steve Buscemi campaign for state House candidate

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A fundraiser was held Thursday evening for one of the candidates for the 58th District of the Ohio House of Representatives.

Democrat Michele Lepore-Hagan greeted more than 300 guests at the DeYor Performing Arts Center.

She was joined by actor and long-time friend Steve Buscemi as well as her sister, fashion designer Nanette Lepore.

Michele hopes to fill the position currently held by her husband, Bob Hagan.

"I'm proud to have their support. It's a great feeling and a boost for Youngstown," Hagan said.

"She comes from a family of educators and artists. She also cares about the environment. She cares about equal opportunity for all," Buscemi said.

Hagan is running against three other Democrats in the primary.
