Student arrested in connection with bomb threat at Newton Falls School

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Newton Falls police arrested a student in connection with a bomb threat that lead to the evacuation of the Newton Falls Junior and Senior High Schools on Wednesday morning.

The Newton Falls police chief tells 21 News that the juvenile, who is a student at the school, is being charged with inducing panic.

The student will also be facing disciplinary action from the school.

K9 units searched the school and the Youngstown Bomb Squad was called to the scene. Nothing was found.

    A second Community Opioid Summit was held at the Covelli Center in downtown Youngstown on Wednesday. The event was sponsored by the Mahoning County Juvenile Court Advisory Board and the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board.
