Man facing death sentence for murder of YSU student appeals to the Ohio Supreme Court

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The man convicted of raping and murdering a Youngstown State University student in 1985 is taking his fight against a death sentence to the highest court in the state.

An appeals court has already rejected arguments from attorneys for Bennie Adams who claim that there were several constitutional violations during his trial.

Adams was convicted of killing his neighbor,19-year-old Gina Tenney, in 1985.

The Ohio Supreme Court hears arguments in the case on Tuesday.
