Unemployment rate in the Valley up from December

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The employment picture brightened for Ohio and the rest of the nation. However, the job situation here in the Valley is not so good.

The latest statistics show that the unemployment in the Youngstown-Warren metro area is 8.2%, an increase of nearly 1% from December.

The January U.S. jobless rate dropped to 6.6% and in the state of Ohio it dropped to 6.9%.

The city of Youngstown had the highest January unemployment rate in the Valley coming in at 10.1%.
