Ohio Supreme Court will not hear appeal of accomplice in Kaluza shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Supreme Court says it will not hear the appeal of the accomplice in the shooting that paralyzed Youngstown restaurant manager Joe Kaluza.

On Wednesday, the high court denied a motion by Hattie Gilbert for a new trial.

She and Taran Helms are each serving 50 yea prison sentences.

The two were found guilty of ambushing and robbing Kaluza leaving him in a wheelchair.
