YSU Board of Trustees to serve as search committee for new president

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown State Board of Trustees will serve as the search committee for the university's new president.

The board says this decision will allow the selection process to move at an accelerated pace.

The chair of the board says the community will still be able to provide input.

"Finalists will be speaking to various members of the community on separate occasions and then there will be a public reception in the evening where the community at large will be able to ask any questions," said Sudershan Garg, president YSU Board of Trustees.

Also during Wednesday's meeting, the board appointed Provost Ikram Khiwaja as the interim president.
