Man posing as Youngstown church representative racks up $200,000 bill

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A federal judge has ordered a man who falsely himself as an official of a Youngstown church pay a nearly $200,000 debt.

A federal magistrate found that Craig Gilcrest of Youngstown misrepresented himself as a Chief Operating Officer of  Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church when he rented office equipment including photo copiers from GE Capital Information Technology Solutions Inc.

Court documents indicate that there is still an outstanding balance on the equipment which had not been returned.

U.S. District Court has issued a ruling ordering Gilcrest to pay $199,628 to the company.

Our earlier report asserting that the church was responsible for the debt was in error.
