Jackknifed tractor trailer backs up I-680 traffic in Youngstown

Posted: Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A jackknifed tractor trailer on Interstate 680 in Youngstown forced traffic to be diverted Tuesday afternoon.

The truck turned over between the ramps to the 7-11 connector at around 3:15 p.m., spilling a load of scrap metal on the roadway.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of 680 were blocked, so police diverted traffic onto the 7-11 connector for a short time.

By 4:30 p.m., northbound traffic was open on 680, but both southbound lanes were still being diverted.

Scanner traffic indicates that the driver wasn't seriously injured.
