Lordstown receives grant money for oil and gas training center

LORDSTOWN, Ohio - Lordstown now has access to state grant money to create an oil and gas industry training center.

The village is in the process of acquiring the former Kunkel Army Reserve Center and surrounding property at the Ohio Commerce Center.

A $250,000 state grant will be available to cover classroom upgrades and equipment.

Village Mayor Arno Hill says Hiram and Eastern Gateway Community College are interested in creating the classroom lesson plans.

    Several police units are searching for a man belived to be involved in a car chase that started out in Hermitage.  The chase began in Hermitage and stopped near State Line Road in Hubbard.  There, the car crashed and was abandoned. The driver took off on foot. Mercer County Dispatch said the man may still be in Ohio, most likely near Interstate 80.  This is a developing story.
