Liberty Twp. assisted living facility donated over 3,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest

Posted: Updated:

LIBERTY TWP., Ohio - About 30 employees of Liberty Arms Assisted Living engaged in some friendly competition that's resulted in a win-win situation for hungry families.

Last year, the employees of Windsor House collected 250 pounds of food, but this year's competitive spirit brought out a collection and donation of 3,866 pounds of food.

The food was packed up for Second Harvest Food Bank's Harvest for Hunger.

"We decided to have a food fight between our staff. We split our teams. Team Diana, who is our resident care coordinator and Team Bill, who is our administrator. We just got competitive and they did all this. It's amazing,' said Amanda Latell, office manager, Liberty Arms Assisted Living.

The competition continues until the end of April.
