Youngstown police identify south side shooting victim

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - An autopsy is scheduled on victim of fatal south side shooting.

The body of 24-year-old Maurise Kerns was found on the front porch of a vacant home on the 500 block of Idora Avenue around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say Kerns had been shot four times in the arm and twice in the torso.

A handgun was found near Kerns body.

Police discovered five spent shell casings near a black Ford Explorer parked in the driveway of a home next door.

There is no word on if police have any suspects in the case.

The Mahoning County Coroner's office has scheduled an autopsy on Wednesday.
