YWCA of Youngstown hosting events during Minority Health Month

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The YWCA of Youngstown will host two free health events during the month of April, which is designated as Minority Health Month.

"Be Healthy, Be Active," a program for youth, will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Chaney High School, 731 S. Hazelwood Ave. Included will be information on nutrition, games for everyday fun, and cardio line dance. There will also be refreshments, door prizes and giveaways.

"If Scales Could Speak! Weight Loss 101," a health fair for women, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the YWCA, 25. W. Rayen Ave. The heath fair includes a yoga session and information about fad diets and weight loss, weight loss and its relationship with diseases, nutrition, and healthy meal preparation. Also included are free chair massages, educational hand-outs, giveaways, door prizes and healthy food sampling.

Both events are free and open to the public.
