Feds allege heroin sale caused Ohio fatal overdose

CLEVELAND (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a northeast Ohio man caused a woman's death by selling her a lethal dose of heroin.

An indictment against Siarres Noble alleges he sold heroin laced with the powerful painkiller fentanyl to an Elyria resident that caused her death the following day.

The 29-year-old Noble was charged Wednesday in federal court in Cleveland with two counts of distribution of heroin and four counts of distribution of fentanyl.

One of the fentanyl charges includes an added allegation that the drug resulted in the woman's death on Nov. 9 last year.

A message was left with an attorney who has represented Noble in recent, unrelated drug-trafficking charges in state court.

Northeast Ohio authorities have cited several recent cases of fatal fentanyl-laced heroin overdoses.
