Woman linked to Warren police shooting back to face charges

WARREN, Ohio - A woman linked to a deadly confrontation with a Warren police officer has been brought back to Ohio to face charges.

21-year-old Regan Jelks is in the Trumbull County jail after being extradited from Detroit, Michigan where she was arrested.

Investigators say Jelks was a passenger in the car driven by Taemarr Walker, who was shot by Warren Police officer Michael Krafcik last October.

Jelks is expected to appear in court here to answer three charges including involuntary manslaughter.

A six-month investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins cleared Officer Krafcik of any wrongdoing in Walker's shooting death.

The report concluded that Walker was reaching for a gun as Krafcik shot him in self defense.
