Locally built car leads poll

LORDSTOWN, Ohio - The Lordstown built Chevrolet Cruze Diesel has set the pace for diesel powered cars in the United States.That's according to a survey taken by Diesel Driver magazine.

Averaging 46 miles per gallon on the highway, the Cruze Diesel finished with 59 percent of more than 11 thousand votes cast.

In the poll, the car was matched against other leading competitors including: Audi, BMW, Jeep and Mercedes Benz.

The 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel is the top diesel car of the year and Chevrolet is the top diesel manufacturer for 2014.

    People living in  hundreds of homes in the East Market Street area of Warren and Howland woke up in the dark Thursday morning after being hit by a power outage. Warren police called FirstEnergy after neighbors reported that a transformer blew out in the area of Broadway Avenue SE and Northwood Dr. SE.
