Truck smashes into Boardman apartment

Posted: Updated:
No one was injured when a pickup truck ran into the front of an apartment building on Southern Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of a white Chevy Silverado tells first responders that he was backing his truck into the driveway of his girlfriend's home on the boulevard when he mistakenly pressed the accelerator pedal.

The truck traveled two doors down in reverse and ran up onto the porch of the two story building just south of Indianola Road.

The bed of the truck rested inside the front wall of the building.

Investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Authorities were calling an inspector to make sure they  could remove the truck safely, without threatening the stability of the structure.
