Agents raid suspected meth lab in North Jackson

Posted: Updated:
NORTH JACKSON, Ohio - Authorities have been keeping an eye on a mobile home in Jackson Township ever since they received tips of suspicious activity.

On Thursday, several police agencies converged on the residence inside Shepards Mobile Home park on Mahoning Avenue.

Police had been watching the mobile home for some time, and noticed unusual activity likely related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

"For instance we would come out here on some very cold days, below zero days and we would find a side window of the trailer, mobile home open and there would be a fan in the window blowing out," said Police Chief Greg Taillon.

Once police entered the home they found exactly what they expected.

Authorities arrested 48-year-old Warren Seitz, who lives in the mobile home with his mother, and charged him with the illegal assembly and manufacturing of drugs.

"The manufacturing charge would result in the fact that we believe that there is more than enough than he would be able to use for personal use, that we believe there is certainly a good possibility he could be manufacturing for the sale of or for other people," explained Taillon.

Specialists dressed in protective gear were called in to safely remove the suspected toxic chemicals.

Police say, they worked diligently on the case because children lived near by.

"We wanted to make sure we were very prudent, we got all of the information that we could and that we also acted as quickly as we possibly could," said Taillon. "But also wanted to make sure we were able to develop a good case."
