Howland dentist sentenced for drug trafficking

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio - A Howland dentist has been sentenced for drug trafficking.  During a hearing on Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Judge Peter Kontos placed 49-year-old Dr. Mark Jones on probation for five years.

Jones, who lives in Fowler Township, pleaded guilty earlier to ten counts of drug trafficking for attempting to sell Oxycodone.

The Ohio State Dental Board ordered a license suspension for Jones in 2012, but his license has since been reinstated under certain conditions which include mandatory participation in a substance abuse recovery program and Jones may not prescribe, order, dispense or administer any scheduled controlled substances.
