Youngstown man buys $100,000 Ohio Lottery ticket

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - May first started as a normal day for Youngstown resident Raymond Murray.  When he went to the Lucky 7 Express Mini Mart on East Midlothian Boulevard to purchase some snacks and a beverage, he also bought a Rolling Cash 5 ticket, using auto lotto to pick the numbers.

The next day, Murray  discovered that he won $100,000, after matching all five numbers drawn. After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent, Murray receives $71,000.

Murray, who doesn't describe himself as a regular lottery player, tells the lottery commission that he plans on investing some of his windfall, helping his parents, and doing something nice for himself.

The vendor that sold the winning ticket receives a $500 agent bonus.
