Bag of decapitated birds left at Pa. funeral home

Posted: Updated:
GILBERT, Pa. (AP) - Authorities believe whoever left decapitated birds, a voodoo doll, some coins and a mousetrap outside a northeastern Pennsylvania funeral home may also be behind a similarly grim discovery nearby several weeks ago.

State police said a bag containing the birds and other items was found Monday outside the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home in Gilbert.

Two weeks earlier, troopers said several bags of decapitated pigeons were found outside Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville, a few miles away from the funeral home.

Police said whoever is behind the deeds will face consequences including animal cruelty charges.
